What is Zumba?

Zumba is a fusion of Latin and International music-dance themes creating an exciting an effective fitness system.  The routines feature aerobicand fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body to maximize caloric output and fat burning.It targets all areas of the bodies, including the heart.

Zumba was created in Colombia South America by Beto Perez in the mid 1990’s by accident and became the hottest exercise craze.

Benefits of Zumba:

  • Burns calories and fat
  • Increases endurance
  • Great workout for toning the entire body, including the heart and core muscles
  • Raises metabolism
  • Exercise improves your circulation and lowers your cholesterol
  • Lowers your resting heart rate
  • Fun-dancing to exciting music with others
  • Great for the heart, mind, body and soul

What to wear:

Comfortable clothing
Dance shoes or shoes with little tread

Times:

Classes are held on Sundays 3:00-4:00 p.m. and Wednesdays 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  Occasionally, the times are changed for holidays.
