Vacation Bible School

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for VBS. All children 4 years old through 5^th grade are invited to join VBS June 28- July 2 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.  Watch for more info.  Please register NOW.  The sooner we can get organized the better prepared we can be!

Thank you for collecting egg crates and paper towel rolls.  We have plenty and no longer need these items.  If you have any clear plastic bottles, we need 20 more and are hoping to collect the most durable ones as they will become musical instruments.  Call Nancy Harrison at 926-0542 if you can help.

The VBS Committee

Needed for science: glass jars, clean plastic bottles (as catsup, mustard, syrup, shampoo, etc.), nets with holes that very small objects could sift through, spray bottles (for water), small plastic buckets with handle (like the ones for the beach), strong magnets, small hand mirrors, metal washers (both small and large), S-hooks

Session Highlights

Session approved Creda Heffelfinger church Treasurer to replace Maxine Price who is retiring.  Session expressed its gratitude for Maxine’s long and faithful service.

Rev. John Griffith will lead worship on June 20 in the absence of Dr. Carroll.

Session approved the infant baptism of Matthew Griffith on June 20.

Session received Greta Hodge, Julia Hayden, Karen Ware and Samuel Tandy as new members by reaffirmation of faith.

The next Commissions meeting will be June 27 at 5:00 PM.

Thanks to all the participants of the run/walk making our church the 2^nd place winner.  Congratulations First Presbyterian Church congregation.

Birth Announcemnet

Proud grandparents Chuck and Nancy Schmeal would like to announce the birth of their first grandson, Jackson Park Wellman.  Jackson weighed 5lbs. 3oz. and measured 18 1/2 inches long.  Jackson is the son of Gerald and Jamie Wellman of Nashville.

Patti's Notes

Schedule for the rest of June:

God’s Children Sing/Ring- Sundays 9:00 -9:30 AM. We will sing and ring Sunday, June 20 at the 10:30 AM Service for the baptism.

SING Youth Choir- We will resume in August after school starts.

Handbells- We won’t rehearse on Thursdays yntil August.  The six ringers for the October wedding will rehearse some Sunday mornings, TBA.  Next rehearsal is Sunday, July 11 9:30 AM.

Adult Choir- Thursdays at 7:00 PM through June.  We will take a break in July on Thursdays, but would still like you to sit in the choir loft on Sundays.

Exercise

Strength Devine- Sundays at 2:00 PM.  We will not meet on June 20^th or July 4^th.

Zumba- Sundays at 3:00 PM and Wednesdays at 7:00 PM.  We will not meet June 20^th or July 4^th.
